State-of-the-Art Power Solutions
Our dedicated sub-station and advanced UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) system ensure a clean electricity supply to our site. In the event of a power loss, the UPS system immediately activates, providing continuous power for up to 30 minutes at 100% usage (with regular testing showing site usage at approximately 40%).
Simultaneously, our standalone 800-litre diesel-powered generator, located in the rear yard of our site, fires up and takes over supply within 12 seconds. This generator can fully power our site for up to 4 days on a full tank, with fuel refills arranged within 12 hours. The separate fuel tank allows for refueling while the generator is in operation.
Rigorous Monitoring and Maintenance
Our power system is continuously monitored and rigorously tested throughout the year according to the following schedule:
- Monthly Testing: The power supply > UPS > generator fail-over is tested twelve times per year, running the generator at full power for 1-3 hours each time.
- Bi-annual Servicing: Both the generator and the UPS system undergo maintenance service twice a year.
- Annual Full Load Test: A third-party supplier conducts a full load test, forcing the generator to run at 100% capacity to ensure reliability.
- Fuel Monitoring: Fuel levels are checked at every testing and maintenance visit. When levels reach 75% of tank capacity, a refill is ordered. Additionally, annual fuel and oil sampling checks for quality and water content, with any issues leading to immediate tank draining and replenishment.
